Current Availability
I am currently accepting new clients with afternoon/evening availability. My Saturday appointments, which are reserved for children and teens, are full at this time.
For many of us, our conscious and suppressed memories from childhood are still actively impacting areas of our lives. These messages and memories from childhood are untrue, inaccurate, and painful. As a therapist, I can help you explore and process the unmet needs and distress from childhood. I can witness and validate how difficult it was to grow up with those limiting and painful beliefs. I can support you in overcoming the trauma, depression and anxiety they may have provoked, and coach you to release the old beliefs that no longer serve you. Together, we can build a greater understanding of why those events happened in your past, confront them and heal them, and reaffirm how they will never happen to you again. Instead, you will come to replace those limiting old beliefs with newer, more accurate, stronger and more optimistic beliefs about your experiences, your current journey, and the future that awaits you.
Healing the Hurts of our Past
Working together, we will hold a space that feels safe and comfortable, so that you can explore your coping strategies and add to them, gain insight into your thoughts and feelings, and make adjustments at a pace that is just right for you. Our goal will be to help you create more peace, acceptance and happiness in your life. My style is supportive and positive, providing possible new ways to think about situations, and provide places along the journey to gain insight, make a different choice, or set a new goal.

I became a therapist as a late stage career, in addition to teaching full time. It was the fulfillment of a dream I have held since childhood. I have a genuine love of working with youth, and extensive experience working with children, teens, and families. I started my career in social welfare in public housing, and received my MPA in Public Administration. I volunteered each summer at youth group homes through Star Vista. I also volunteered for 9 years on the Suicide Hotline, which led me to RTS (Rape Trauma Services), where I was trained as a Sexual Assault Counselor. I currently hold certification as a Youth Mental Health Specialist but also see a diverse group of clients experiencing a range of mental health conditions.
I am affiliated with One Life Counseling Center, who have multiple offices in San Carlos, Redwood City, Burlingame and San Francisco, but run my therapy private practice as a solo practitioner, in Burlingame. I am also a full time, credentialed middle school teacher, and teach English, Social Studies, and Psychology. My education is in psychology with a Masters in Clinical Counseling. I have another Master’s Degree in Education, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, and a Ph.D. in Education.
I am very fortunate to love working in the field of psychology and counseling. I also love to travel and volunteer, read, meditate, dance, spend time with my granddaughter, and socialize with family and friends.

“When we suffer anguish we return to early childhood because that is the period in which we first learnt to suffer the experience of total loss. It was more than that. It was the period in which we suffered more total losses than in all the rest of our life put together.”
